This paper seeks to trace the years Antonio Maria Amone (1768-1848) spent at the Conservatorio di Santa Maria di Loreto by drawing on unpublished documents kept at the Historical Archive of the Neapolitan Conservatorio “San Pietro a Majella” in Naples and Accademia Filarmonica in Bologna. It also weaves in events unfolding parallel to Amone’s life, involving Marco Santucci (1762-1843), as documented by an exchange of letters between the two musicians. Among those corresponding with Santucci, it also follows the account of the cello player Gaetano Ciaudelli.
